Hungry Bug is a band from the DMV area making their way through the garage-punk genre. Starting as a group in mid-2022 over Craigslist ads, they immediately began writing material and searching for venues in DC. Their first DIY album “The Self-Titled”, released in June 2023, showcased their influences and marked their path forward.

Hungry Bug's sophmore album "ALLURA", released in August 2024, brought a new sound that focused more on the process rather than the end result. Long days and nights in the studio, tirelessly working on their sonic canvas. New environments lead to new ways of thinking, and the album features much more ambience and space, while still being able to punch you in the gut like a bus full of bricks.

They like to explore songs with punk, psych, and math influences, with a touch of jam. Big inspirations come from Osees, King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard, and Ty Segall.

Hungry Bug is composed of Kimo (guitar/vocals), Ryan Key (drums), and Cameron (bass).

Hungry Bug's live performances promise much more energy than what could ever be found on the recording. Their no-holds-barred approach to gigging never ceases to grab the audience's attention. Their music has been described as "danceable, but at your own risk". Hungry Bug is always looking to play more venues in the DC and extended areas.
